Sales is a sport, and athletes practice everyday. Earlier this year we launched Rilla Roleplay so reps could scrimmage against AI customers any time they wanted. In the truck between appointments, in the store waiting for a walk-in, on weekends because they find it fun.
But professional athletes don't only scrimmage. They sit with coaches and learn plays. They run drills on micro-skills. They work on one thing at a time until it is automatic. Practice is much more than a simulation of the game.
Today we are introducing Rilla Lessons: a guided path through your sales process, built from short lessons that start simple, get harder, and end in a roleplay that puts it all together.
A path through your sales process. Open Rilla Lessons and the gorilla is at the start of a journey across the sales desert. Each stop is a unit: opening the call, discovery, presenting options, handling objections, closing. All built from your sales process you upload, not a generic one.

Micro-lessons, not just roleplays. A lesson takes a minute or two and teaches one concept: what an open-ended question is, how to ask one, when to use it. Reps learn the idea before they are asked to perform it.
Difficulty that ramps. Lessons start with repeat-after-Rick and multiple choice, move to "now you ask the question," and end with no hints at all. Each unit gets harder than the last.

Instant feedback from Rick. Get it wrong and Rick stops you right there and explains why. "This question starts with 'what' — that's typical of an open-ended question." Then you try again.

Roleplay at the end of every unit. Once the concepts are learned, reps practice them in a full Rilla Roleplay conversation. The scrimmage after the drills.
Here is the lesson we train our own AEs on: asking open-ended questions at the start of a call.
Two or three minutes, every day. A concept, a drill, a rep, then the game.
Sellers use Rilla Lessons 8.5 times a day on average. For comparison, the average seller records about two conversations a day on Rilla. Practice is getting four times more use than the game itself which is exactly how professional athletes split their time. Overall usage is up 14,000% compared with roleplay alone.
They are doing it on their own time, on weekends, without a manager asking. And they are getting better without any human supervision.
“Rilla is helping me significantly to learn our sales process. I just sold a closet home in less than a month since starting in sales. Two and a half months in, I'm already up $121,000. I love my training monkey.”
Rilla Lessons is included in Rilla Roleplay at no additional cost. If your team has Roleplay, Lessons is rolling out to you now in the Rilla mobile app.
